Pair of Daisies

Pair of daisies lie on sand,
Plucked by lover’s lonely hands.
“Loves me or he loves me not… ”
Until by creeping waves they’re caught
To end their beauty’s fleeting span.
True love or infatuation?
Or just flowers in saturation.

This is an entry in this week’s YeahWrite poety challenge: https://yeahwrite.me/current-weekly-challenges/

The entry is for two of the prompts: the picture itself, and the word infatuation.

  1. Really liked this! I thought the challenge was to incorporate the emotion of infatuation, but not the word. Not sure if it’s required for poetry? Still doesn’t lessen my enjoyment! I really liked the rhythm and very traditional feel of the rhyme.

    1. D’oh! Good point. I forgot to not use the word itself. Oh well. Maybe I can slide by saying it was entry for the picture. 🙂

Glad you liked it in any case. I was happy with how this one worked
      out.
